Castile Soaps

What is Castile Soap? The history of it dated back in the 11th century when European brought Aleppo Soap from Middle East.  Castile Soap is made with 100 % Olive Oil.  It is so gentle even for baby and sensitive skin.  The original of Castile Soap I believe is unscented.

For the fun of it, I put heart embeds in some of the soaps :).  It is scented with Essential Oil blend of Clove, Nutmeg, and Fennel.  The scent is somehow subtle, quite earthy...

Please let me know if you are interested in these...:)

Tallow Soaps :)

I replace palm oil with tallow in all my recipes which contain palm oil.  I think the result is creamier.  This soap is made with coconut oil, tallow and olive oil, scented with lemongrass essential oil

Liquid Castile Soaps

I made several batches of liquid soap.  The results are vary, especially in appearance, but I like them all.

I made this with olive oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil and castor oil.  It's a bit cloudy, maybe because of the rice bran oil, I'm not sure. But the lather is fine. I scented it with lemongrass EO

This one is made only with olive oil and coconut oil.  The lather is similar with the first one, but it is clearer.

The is 100 % coconut oil.  It is clear and it produces pretty much  a lot of lather.  I tried it once and it is not drying but I will use it more to find out the mildness.

Sugar Cube Body Scrub

This is my new favorite.

It cleans, moisturizes, detoxifies at the same time.  Also smells great.  I made this from cp soap, add sugar, olive oil and other additives. Some of the additives are :

Madder root powder

Kaolin clay and Rice Powder

Orange peel extract and sweet orange essential oil

It is as practical as store bought body scrub, only much more natural. Why dont you give it a try? I can be reach at 087884706911 :)

Cornsilk in soap

It is an interesting experiment using cornsilk for soaps.  I added cornsilk to the lye solution and it turned the water into clear yellow.
There were still some fibers left undissolved, so I strained it before pouring into the oils.

The finished soap still has the very pale yellow color. I find it quite nice.

New Soaps

Honey Soap
My trip to "Madu Pramuka" is always a nice trip.  I bought honey (of course), bee pollen and beeswax there.  This soap made with honey I bought there and lightly scented with coconut lime verbena fragrance oil.

Rice Soap
Since I read an article about the benefits of rice for skin, I want to make a rice soap. Then I have this cute mold, why not using it?  Little girls loooove this soap :)

Facial Bar

For facial bar, special oils were selected :olive, coconut, rice bran and palm. No artificial color and fragranche.  The left one is activated charcoal and rice powder, the middle one is rosehip and rice powder, the right one is actually Sirih soap. Made with homemade sirih leaves powder and Sirih essential oil. Women love this soap for personal hygiene.

Milk Soap

When I first made milk soap, I have no idea that it will turn brown (I hoped to see pure white soap :D).

This is 3 milk : cow milk, rice milk, and oatmeal milk, frozen.

I added the lye to this frozen milk.  It made orange-brown lye solution. This is the result.

Ingredients : Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Canola Oil, Water, Sodium hydroxide, Milk powder, Oatmeal powder, Rice, Essential Oil

I used essential oil blend: peppermint, fennel and nutmeg.  No additional color.

Rice Soap

I ordered this silicone mold a while ago and have no idea what to do with it so I made this rice soap.

Here are the soaps

This soap is made with palm oil, castor oil, canola oil, sodium hidroxide, water, rice powder, and sugar. Lightly scented with fruits fragrance oil blend and colored with cosmetic mica.  I'm happy with this one, the leather is nice and not drying.  The shape makes it forgiving for me who can't cut soap straight to save my life :D

How to store your handmade soap

Not every soap dish is suitable for handmade soap.  This picture gives you ideas of a proper dish for handmade soap.
New Soaps

1.  Lotta Love
I feel that I want a soap that is cute but simple so came up with this.  the green one is colored with spinach powder that I made myself, The light brick red is colored with red morrocan clay and the blue one is colored with mica.  All scented with champagne FO.

2.  Sponge Bob
My son used to love Sponge Bob, He prefers other characters now :). This soap is colored with orange peel powder infused oil, cocoa powder, n Titanium Dioxide (for white).  It is made of Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Water, NaOH, Orange peel powder, Cocoa powder, titanium dioxide and Orange FO

3. Plain Bars
I get this commet quite often : your soap is too pretty to be used (honestly I feel there are way more prettier soaps than mine), so I made these plain bars. They are colored with milk (although milk is not colorant but in CP soap sometimes it makes your soap a bit tan), orange peel powder, paprika infused oil, and simply Titanium dioxide.

4. Pink Roses
Actually I wanted to make red roses but came up with this color ;(.  So far my attempts for really red color (just like Indonesian flag) hasn't been successful.  I'm quite happy with the result anyway.  This soap is scented with Rose FO

Newly Found Plant from the garden

I've been wondering what plant this is since the leaves are very similar to Piper Betle leaves but they have different scent.

I

I finally found out what it was when I planned to buy May Chang Essential Oil and the online store where I usually buy my oils provide the picture. So May Chang =Litsea Cubeba=Kemukus in Bahasa Indonesia. There are a lot of skin benefits of this plant, I'll do more online research about this.  I agree with everyone who likes the scent of May Chang, it's a pleasant scent but not overpowering.  I already infuse it in coconut oil, when infused the color of the oil is bright green.  But in Cold Process Soap, it barely gives any color :(

Soaps For Kids

These soaps were made from strawberry and cucumber juice. Strawberry doesn't give red color incp soaps, so the orange was from paprika infused oil.  Cucumber, however, gives a very pale green color. These are scented with coconut lime verbena FO and Cucumber Melon FO

The same formula but this time using sandalwood powder. It gives very light pinkish brown color.  Scented with champagne FO
